"If you know, you know": Square Enix is already blatantly hinting at a Final Fantasy IX remake

For several years now, insiders have been reporting that Square Enix is preparing a remake of Final Fantasy IX, a game from 2000 that is considered one of the best parts of the series.

The Japanese developer has not commented on these rumours in any way, but indirectly hinted that they might be true.

Here's What We Know

The company recently announced that there will be a massive event in June to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX and fans of the game suggested that this would be the best time to announce the remake.

Square Enix continues to tease the public and has published a pithy post on X that could equally mean nothing (but then what's it for?) or prepare the public for the announcement of the remake. It says a single quote from FF IX's finale, "My memories will become part of the sky" and captioned, "If you know, you know".

Of course, it's hard to interpret posts like this, but there are so many rumours and hints about a Final Fantasy IX remake that it's impossible to ignore them.
