Samsung has officially stopped software updates for the Galaxy S20 series of smartphones, which includes the S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra models.

Here's What We Know

These devices, released in 2020, were originally promised four years of support, but last year the company extended their lifecycle by switching them to quarterly security updates. The last security update was released in March 2025, after which support was permanently discontinued.

Users of these models will now no longer be able to receive Android version updates or security patches, leaving the devices vulnerable to malware and performance issues.

The Galaxy S20 FE model remains on the quarterly update schedule for now, but its support is also expected to end soon. Users are advised to think about replacing their devices to avoid potential risks and ensure stable smartphone performance.
