An unusual character has appeared in Assassin's Creed Shadows - the white cat Bakkeneko. This character has a real prototype: a cat named Ghost, which belongs to Ubisoft production manager Nik Pantis.

Here's What We Know

Nick Pantis shared on social media that his cat, Ghost, was immortalised in the game as Bakkeneko, a supernatural yokai or kaibyo known as a "ghost cat" in Japanese folklore. He posted images of Gost in real life and his virtual counterpart in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

This is not the first time that cats from real life appear in the Assassin's Creed universe. In 2023, Assassin's Creed Mirage featured a cat of a game fan with a natural pattern on its face that resembled the Assassin's Creed logo.

Unfortunately, this cat died before the game was released, but Ubisoft decided to perpetuate his memory by including his image in the game.
