The former president of PlayStation Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, said that during his leadership, the company cancelled many games, even those that had already been heavily invested in.

Here's What We Know

Yoshida noted that Sony regularly evaluates prototypes of new games, deciding whether to invest additional resources in them. He stressed that many projects are stopped at the early stages of development.

However, there are cases when cancellation occurs in the later stages. Yoshida mentioned two projects that were cancelled after spending $25 million each. He noted that these were significant amounts of money at the time, and he felt guilty that these games did not make it to release.

However, Shuhei did not name which games were cancelled, so we can only speculate.

It is worth reminding that Yoshida was "horrified" by the technical condition of God of War (2018) and that is why the game was postponed for six months.
