The joint venture between Mazda and Changan has published new photos of the EZ-60 electric crossover in the Chinese social network Weibo. Despite the Chinese origin, this model will also be sold in other countries under the designation CX-6e.

Here's What We Know

Mazda EZ-60 (we'll call it that for now) is a production version of the Arata concept car. Characteristic features of the car are a long front end, hidden door handles and side cameras instead of mirrors (this technology has been legal in China for a couple of years already).

Interior features and technical specifications of the new electric model have not been revealed yet, but most likely, the car will be based on the EPA1 platform of Changan. The same architecture underpinned the Deepal SL03 sedan and the S7 crossover.

If this formula is adhered to, a 254 hp version with a 68.8 kWh battery pack is expected as standard, which provides a range of about 480 kilometres. A version with 241 hp, an 80 kWh battery and a range of around 550 kilometres is possible.

A version with an additional 1.5 litre petrol engine (Range Exteder), which will be used to charge the battery pack, is also likely to be available in China.

The Mazda EZ-60 will be publicly unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2025, which will be held from 23 April to 2 May.
