Samsung has announced the imminent release of its new mid-range smartphone Galaxy M56, which will go on sale on 17 April in India. The company has revealed the design of the device and some of its specifications.

Here's What We Know

The device features a slim design with a thickness of just 7.2mm, making it thinner than the previous Galaxy M55 model, while retaining a 5,000mAh battery. The Super AMOLED+ screen is 33 per cent brighter with narrower bezels and a Vision Booster feature.

The Galaxy M56 features a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro lens. The 12 MP front camera supports 4K HDR video recording at 30fps, just like the main camera. The smartphone has also received improved protection thanks to Gorilla Glass Victus+, which can withstand drops from a height of up to two metres.

The device is powered by an Exynos 1480 processor, Android 15 and One UI 7.0 and is likely to get support for six major OS updates. Among the expected features are stereo speakers, an under-screen fingerprint scanner, support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and 45W fast charging. Samsung will also offer new image editing features like Image Clipper and Object Eraser.
