Apple has made Apple Maps available to Android users, but there is one important nuance. The company has not released a separate application for this operating system. Instead, it opened the Apple Maps website, which can now be used through a mobile browser.

Here's What We Know

Although this can be considered a step forward, the available features are rather limited. For example, users cannot log in to their Apple account and access their saved locations. In fact, the current version on Android supports only the basic functions: searching for places, finding petrol stations, and creating routes. All other features, such as viewing saved locations, remain unavailable.

The choice to make Apple Maps available through the browser instead of creating a separate application seems somewhat unusual, especially since the company has not integrated the functionality that iOS users are used to. This may be due to the fact that Apple has been testing the web version of its mapping service for a year and plans to expand this platform.

However, for now, Apple Maps on Android is unlikely to become a popular alternative. Google Maps offers much more comprehensive functionality and integrates better with other Android services. Therefore, most users are likely to continue using Google Maps.

Recently, the Apple TV app was finally released for Android devices. It was created from scratch with the Android operating system in mind, and it is now available for download from the Google Play Store.
