HBO never tires of stirring up interest in the second season of The Last of Us by releasing a fresh trailer full of hints about the upcoming episodes of the post-apocalyptic saga(and a few spoilers).

Here's What We Know

In the new video, we see a touching moment when Joel (Pedro Pascal) gives Ellie (Bella Ramsay) her famous guitar; new scenes between Joel and his therapist Gail (played by Catherine O'Hara), and we also get a glimpse of what Abby (Caitlin Deaver) is up to as she seeks revenge on Joel. The trailer also shows a tense conversation between Isaac (Jeffrey Wright) and a captured Seraph and, of course, the many infected who pose a constant threat to the survivors.

Although some of the footage shown in the trailer is likely to be from the second episode, the title of the video - "Weeks Ahead" - hints that it may contain footage from other upcoming episodes. The second season of The Last of Us will consist of seven episodes.

In addition, HBO also released a separate behind-the-scenes video dedicated to the first episode of the second season. It reveals the details and motivations behind key scenes, including the reasons why Joel seeks therapy, the circumstances of Abby's appearance, the development of the relationship between Ellie and Dinah (Isabela Merced), and the introduction of a new type of infected that appears in the episode. Like the trailer, this video also contains spoilers.

New episodes of The Last of Us are released every Sunday. The good news for fans is that the series has already been renewed for a third season, as the seven episodes of the second season will not be enough to fully cover the events of The Last of Us: Part II.
