Google has started rolling out a new Google Photos integration feature in the Gemini app on Android.

Here's What We Know

This integration consists of two key components. The first allows users to search for backup images and videos based on groups of people or relationships stored in Google Photos, the location or date the photo was taken, a description of the image content, and the current conversation with the Gemini app.

The second component provides the ability to query important data found in photos, such as holiday themes, meals, document numbers, and travel highlights. The search results are displayed in the Google Photos app, where additional data can be viewed.

To activate the feature, users must go to the Gemini app profile menu, select the "Media" section and connect Google Photos.

The feature is currently available to a limited number of invited users in the US. A wider rollout of the feature is expected in the near future.
