Former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida continues to leave his mark on the gaming industry, this time in pixelated form. Mureena Oy has decided to honour the veteran by adding him as a playable character in its upcoming puzzle platformer Bionic Bay.

Here's What We Know

This atmospheric game, set in an ancient biomechanical world, is being prepared for release on PC and PlayStation 5. Although Yoshida no longer works at PlayStation, his legacy will live on - now in the form of a character skin, as well as his own "special" level.

On the PlayStation blog, Bionic Bay's Creative Director Juhana Mullus expressed the team's excitement about working with Yoshida. Yoshida's level will be available in the game's upcoming online trial mode.

After a short delay, Bionic Bay is scheduled to release on 17 April.

Bionic Bay isn't the only game project Yoshida has been working on since leaving PlayStation. In January, it was announced that he would join the cast of Promise Mascot Agency. There, he voices the bright green, bird-like mascot MonouGe, who "just loves games".

As a reminder, Ghost of Yotei is already working well and feels natural and intuitive, the former PlayStation executive said.
