On 16 April, Zoom users experienced a major outage on the platform. Many Zoom users have experienced problems connecting to the service, which has resulted in a large number of complaints and reports of failures.

Here's What We Know

DownDetector is a platform where users can report technical problems with online services. When the number of such messages exceeded 60,000, it was a clear signal that the problem was large-scale and affected a large number of users.

The company quickly responded to the situation and published an update confirming the outage and informing that it was working to restore access to the service. At 5:00 p.m. ET, it was confirmed that Zoom was back up and running and users could reconnect to their meetings.

While the outage caused difficulties connecting to video calls, some users were able to use the time to take a break from virtual meetings. In addition, Spotify had also experienced problems the previous day, being unavailable for several hours.

Despite the temporary difficulties, Zoom resumed its work, and users can now use the platform's services again.

Last year, Zoom introduced a new feature that allows you to organise webinars with up to one million people.
