Xbox Game Pass Ultimate owners have received a long-awaited gift - the ability to run some games directly on their consoles via cloud streaming, bypassing the download stage.

Here's What We Know

Ultimate subscribers can now stream games from the Game Pass catalogue, as well as "select games they've purchased," to their Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One via the cloud.

Previously available on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones and Meta Quest headsets, this is the first time this feature has been available on Xbox consoles. In effect, it allows players to save time on game downloads and valuable console space.

To take advantage of this new feature, Xbox offers the following instructions:

To start streaming from your Xbox console, go to My Games & Apps > My library > Purchased games.

Games available for cloud streaming will have a cloud icon on the game page.

Use filters to find games faster. Select Filter > Ready to play > Cloud games.

To start playing, select the game and click Play via Cloud Gaming.

So if your internet connection allows you to play this way, you don't have to spend a couple of hours installing giant games, but can start playing them right away.
