Canadian PlayStation Plus subscribers should prepare for an increase in the cost of the PS Plus service. Sony has announced an increase in prices for all subscription levels in Canada, the first such step since September 2023, when the company last adjusted the cost of services in this region.

Here's What We Know

In an email reportedly sent to users, Sony explained the decision as a way to "continue to deliver high quality games and benefits for your PlayStation Plus subscription."

Unfortunately, there are no new bonuses for subscribers to compensate for the price increase. Players will still have access to the PS Plus catalogue and free monthly games.

The new prices in Canadian dollars are as follows:

  • PlayStation Plus Essential (12 months) - $110 (previously $95)
  • PlayStation Plus Extra (12 months) - $190 (previously $155)
  • PlayStation Plus Premium (12 months) - $225 (previously $190)

It is worth noting that Sony has already announced price increases for PlayStation Plus in other countries, including South America and Australia. In addition, the company recently announced an increase in the cost of some PS5 console models in certain regions, such as New Zealand, Europe, and the UK
