The air conditioning of the new Hyundai Palisade Hybrid can run with the engine off
Hyundai has unveiled a new generation of the three-row Palisade for the North American market. SUV received a more spacious interior, new equipment, hybrid powertrain and off-road version XRT PRO.
Here's What We Know
The new Palisade is noticeably redesigned from the outside: the body became more angular, with straight lines instead of the previous smooth curves. At the front and rear - LED optics in a characteristic for the brand design. Thanks to active air flaps and sloping front pillars, the aerodynamic drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.31 - one of the best in class, despite an increase in length by 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) and wheelbase by 2.7 inches (68.5 mm).
The interior is more spacious, too. The new 'soft geometry' design is inspired by mid-century modern styling, with rounded elements on the dash, door cards and centre console. The standard two 12.3-inch panels are responsible for the multimedia and instrument cluster. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are part of the basic equipment.
Options include premium comfort seats with retractable thigh support, second-row captain's chairs, and a folding third row. All three rows are complemented by cupholders and USB-C ports.
The main technical innovation is the hybrid powertrain. It combines a turbocharged 2.5-litre petrol motor with two electric motors. The combined output is 329 hp (245 kW). The gearbox is a 6-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is not yet officially confirmed, but its appearance is expected.

The base Palisade is equipped with an atmospheric 3.5-litre V6 engine with an output of 287 hp (214 kW), combined with an 8-speed "automatic" and available with both front and all-wheel drive. The petrol version can tow up to 5,000 lb (2,268 kg), while the hybrid can tow up to 4,000 lb (1,814 kg).
Hyundai claims the hybrid model will be economical not only in the city but also on the highway, with a claimed fuel consumption of 30 miles per gallon (7.84 litres/100km) and a total range of up to 619 miles (996km). The hybrid can also operate in Stay Mode, where the climate control is powered by a high-voltage battery like electric cars.
XRT PRO: Palisade for off-roading
For the adventurous, Hyundai offers a new version of the XRT PRO designed specifically for the United States. It features 1 inch (25 mm) more ground clearance, improved entry (20.5°) and exit (22.4°) angles, as well as off-road tyres, an electronic rear differential, towing eyes and standard all-wheel drive.
The XRT PRO arsenal includes Mud, Sand and Snow modes, all-round vision, roll, elevation and elevation readouts, compass, and hill descent assist. Equipment includes a power sunroof, 14-speaker Bose audio system, contoured interior lighting and faux leather.
Pricing for the new Palisade has not yet been named. Sales of the SUV are due to start in autumn 2025, but the timing and cost could change due to Trump's tariffs on imported goods, as the model is manufactured in South Korea.
