The Outer Worlds 2 will delight gamers with interesting locations and exciting quests, but will not tire gamers with its scale
IGN channel published an exclusive video with the developers from Obsidian studio, who talked about the locations of The Outer Worlds 2.
Here's What We Know
Game director Brandon Adler and art director Daniel Alpert said that their team took into account gamers' comments on the modest content and scale of locations of the first part of The Outer Worlds and in the sequel they will be bigger, more diverse and more complex. However, the authors emphasised that the current trend for overly stretched games will bypass The Outer Worlds 2, as they have no goal to make the maximum huge game zones - content and narrative are at the top of the list.
As an example, the authors showed the settlement of Golden Ridge, located on the moon planet Dorado. When creating it, the designers moved away from the usual aesthetics of retro-futurism and turned to classic westerns, which allowed to give this location identity and individuality.
On each planet and satellite, players will find many interesting places, unusual characters, valuable items and exciting quests.
Of course, we have a main storyline that must be adhered to in order to progress, but at the same time, in true Obsidian style, we let players go wherever they want and do whatever they want.
When We Can Expect It
The Outer Worlds 2 is expected to release in 2025 on PC(Steam, Battle.net), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, including Game Pass.
