Casio launches new eco-friendly G-Shock G-5600BG-5 watch in the US
Casio continues its commitment to sustainable materials with the introduction of a new G-Shock model made from recycled materials. Following the launch of the GA010CE and GD010CE series in February this year, the company is launching the G-Shock G-5600BG-5 in the US market.
Here's What We Know
The watch has a bracelet and bezel made from recycled resin left over from the production of other Casio models.
Casio uses leftover white and olive-coloured resin, grinds it into powder and mixes it with beige resin to make the bezel and bracelet. This approach produces a unique marbled texture on the surface of the watch. Due to the random mixing of materials, each watch has a unique design.
Despite the eco-friendly approach, the G-Shock G-5600BG-5 retains all the characteristics of the classic model. It features Tough Solar technology, which allows the watch to be charged using ambient light, significantly reducing the need to replace the battery.
In addition, the watch is highly durable: it is shock resistant and can withstand water pressure up to 200 metres. It also has a bright Super Illuminator LED backlight, a world time function for 48 cities, five alarms and an automatic calendar.
The G-Shock G-5600BG-5 is priced at $150 and is available now on Casio's official website and at authorised G-Shock retailers in the US.
Casio recently announced the stylish DW-5610UU-3PRM watch for fans of a relaxed lifestyle in China.
