Google is working on a major update for Google Chat that includes the ability to schedule messages and integration with Gemini artificial intelligence.

Here's What We Know

The new feature will allow users to set an exact time and date to send messages, and view all scheduled messages in a special section. This will eliminate the need to use third-party services to schedule messages to be sent. These changes were discovered by our colleagues at Android Authority, who examined the code of the Gmail v2025.04.13 app.

Google is also planning to bring Gemini features to the Google Chat mobile app. Users will be able to use artificial intelligence to create summaries, create task lists, and answer specific questions in ongoing conversations. Gemini is already available in the web version of Google Chat, and now its functionality will be integrated into the Gmail mobile app. To access it, you'll just have to tap on the Gemini icon in the app's interface.

Although these features are not yet available to users, they are expected to appear in the upcoming updates. Google is actively testing the new features to make interaction with the app more convenient and functional.
