HMD is working on a successor to its Skyline smartphone, which was released last summer. The novelty, which is expected to be called HMD Skyline 2, is due to appear in July this year, exactly one year after the launch of the original.

Here's What We Know

This information was reported by a source with a reliable reputation in the world of HMD leaks. However, there are no further details about the new model, except that it will use the index "2" in its name.

The original HMD Skyline featured a 6.55-inch P-OLED screen with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels, 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. It was powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and had 8 or 12 GB of RAM, as well as 128/256 GB of expandable internal storage. The gadget supports 15W Qi2 magnetic charging.

The smartphone was equipped with three cameras: a 108 MP main camera with OIS, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera was 50MP, and the 4600mAh battery supported 33W charging via wired and 15W magnetic wireless charging.

The HMD Skyline 2 is likely to have improved specs, but the exact changes remain unknown for now.

HMD Skyline boasted 2nd generation repairability. Thanks to this, users were able to change some elements of the new product without any problems. For this purpose, the iFixit toolkit was needed.
