Bend Studio has provided a detailed description of the accessibility features that await players in Days Gone Remastered. Among the most interesting innovations is the ability to slow down the game speed in tense moments.

Here's What We Know

In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Bend Studio's Creative and Product Lead Kevin McAllister talks about the various accessibility options included in Days Gone Remastered.

One of the key ones is the "Game Speed", which will allow players to change the pace of the gameplay, reducing it from 100% to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. According to McAllister, this feature is designed to make the game easier for those who have difficulty in stressful situations.

"The speed of the game is ideal for players who may feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with different actions in tense moments, especially when fighting hordes of freaks," said McAllister. "Hordes are a key element of Days Gone's gameplay, and with the addition of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."

In addition, Days Gone Remastered will offer customisable subtitle colour settings, a high contrast mode with customisable settings, voice acting and audio prompts for collectibles. The automatic QTE completion feature, which was previously available only on the easy difficulty level, will now be activated at any level, from Easy to Survival II.

The good news is that most of these new accessibility features will also be available in the PC version of Days Gone. However, some options related to haptic feedback and control settings will require a compatible controller.

As a reminder, Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February and will offer players an improved photo mode, permanent death and speedrun options, as well as the aforementioned accessibility features. The updated version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action game about bikers will be released very soon - on 25 April 2025. Owners of the PS4 version of Days Gone will be able to upgrade to the PS5 remaster for $10. So, get your bikes ready and don't forget to slow down time when a horde of freaks is coming at you!
