Nintendo has confirmed that the new GameCube controller for Switch 2 will work with more than just classic games, but there may be problems
Nintendo has confirmed that the new GameCube controller for Switch 2 will support not only classic games of the console. Despite the fact that the company previously announced compatibility only with games on this platform, it has now clarified that it can also be used in other games on Switch 2, but with certain restrictions.
Here's What We Know
In a commentary for Nintendo Life, representatives of the Japanese company explained that the controller does not have all the buttons and functions that modern controllers for Switch 2 have, such as the Pro Controller or Joy-Con 2. This is why some games may experience compatibility issues. It's important to note that this controller will not work with the original Switch.
Here's What We Know
The controller was announced during the Nintendo Direct in early April, where they also announced the addition of GameCube games to Switch Online + Expansion Pack: from 5 June, players will be able to play The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, and Soul Calibur II, followed by Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, and Chibi-Robo: Plug Into Adventure.
