The first teaser for Predator: Badlands reveals a new species of Predator that embarks on a dangerous journey in search of its greatest foe
A teaser trailer for the upcoming sci-fi action film Predator: Badlands has been released, which is set to change the way we think about the iconic monster.
Here's What We Know
In this brief introduction, we see the heroine Elle Fanning, who, apparently, is a resident of a dangerous remote planet of the future. But the main intrigue is that the Predator she will face seems to be completely different from its predecessors and may even act as a protagonist.
The development of Predator: Badlands was officially confirmed back in February 2024, and the film's release date was announced in October of the same year. The film will be shown on 7 November. The trailer was exclusively shown at CinemaCon earlier this month, but now fans can get a first look at what's to come.
During CinemaCon, 20th Century also released the official synopsis of the film: "In the future, on a remote planet, a young Predator, banished from his clan, finds an unexpected ally in Tia and embarks on a dangerous journey in search of his greatest foe."
"Something unprecedented is happening in this film," Fanning told journalists and film industry representatives at CinemaCon. "My character doesn't run away. My character is actually teaming up with the Predator. And you will see him in a whole new light. And... that's where I'm going to stop."
The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for his work on 10 Cloverfield Street and the Prey prequel. He co-wrote the script with Patrick Eyson.
