Perplexity will appear on Motorola smartphones: start with the new Razr 2025

Motorola and Perplexity have announced a partnership that will see Perplexity's artificial intelligence pre-installed on Motorola smartphones.

The first devices with the integrated application will be the new Razr (2025), Razr+ (2025), and Razr Ultra models.

Perplexity is a modern AI service for searching for answers that will be able to work as a default assistant. However, Google Gemini remains the main assistant on Motorola smartphones. The company notes that the application will be specially optimised for Motorola devices, including the external screen of foldable Razr.

Motorola plans to further expand the availability of Perplexity to other models, although not all smartphones of the brand will receive it. The manufacturer emphasises that it wants to provide access to Perplexity to as many users as possible.

Despite the close cooperation with Perplexity, Motorola also continues to work with Google (Gemini) and Meta as part of its own Moto AI suite.

Google emphasised that it does not prohibit the installation of third-party assistants, and the choice is up to the manufacturer and the user. Motorola decided on its own how to embed Perplexity: through a separate button, an icon on the home screen, and other interface elements.
