La Quimera failure: shooter from the creators of Metro struck by terrible execution and postponed indefinitely

Yesterday (25th of April) was supposed to be the release of La Quimera shooter from Reburn studio, founded by veterans of the Ukrainian company 4A Games - the author of Metro series.

Unfortunately, the game was not released and most likely it will not happen in the near future.

Here's What We Know

La Quimera trailers presented the game as an ambitious futuristic shooter with excellent graphics, spectacular staging, dynamic shootouts, intense plot and interesting Latin American cyberpunk setting.

However, the authors announced in their Discord server that the game's release has been postponed indefinitely.

We would like to apologise for the unexpected delay in the release of La Quimera to you, our fans and supporters. Our team has been working hard on the game, and as this is our first project as an independent developer, this has led to some unforeseen difficulties. We are doing our best to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.

The developers didn't give the main reason for such an urgent postponement of the game, but we won't hide the obvious: they have got a frankly low-quality game, which is not ready for release and requires a lot of effort. This is confirmed by numerous videos and reviews of bloggers and journalists, who were given the opportunity to get acquainted with La Quimera earlier.

The real state of the game doesn't match what was shown in the trailers: it has outdated graphics, poor performance, the combat system doesn't offer anything innovative, poor voice acting, and the story is practically non-existent. The game is terrible on Steam Desk.

It's a fiasco.
