Dune: Awakening authors invite "tens of thousands of players" to large-scale beta testing
Funcom studio shared important news about the ambitious survival simulator with MMO elements Dune: Awakening.
Here's What We Know
The authors presented a spectacular story trailer of Dune: Awakening, which reminds that the events of the game will unfold in an alternative time line to Frank Herbert's books, where the most important character Paul Atreides was not born, and in his absence the story followed a completely different scenario.
In addition, Funcom has announced that the largest beta test of Dune: Awakening will take place from 9 to 12 May, where "tens of thousands of players" will be able to participate. The developers will provide around 20 hours of content, including most of the first act of the storyline.
Unlike past testing sessions, this time players will not be constrained by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), allowing them to freely share their opinions, stream and release videos.
Participation in the beta can already be requested on Steam, and keys can be obtained during the Twitch broadcast on 10 May.
When We Can Expect It
Dune: Awakening will be released on PC on the 10th of June, and the release date for console versions will be announced later. Buyers of the Deluxe edition will get access to the game from 5 June.
