Microsoft game conquers PlayStation: analysts say Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is selling significantly better on Sony's console than on PC and Xbox
A few days ago adventure action Indiana Jones and the Great Circle lost the status of Xbox console exclusive and was released on PlayStation 5.
Microsoft games are very popular on the competitor's platform and the novelty from MachineGames was not an exception.
Here's What We Know
The analytical agency Alinea Analytics studied the sales of Indiana Jones on different platforms and came to the conclusion that on PS5 the game is bought more actively than on PC and Xbox.
According to Alinea estimates, as of 23 April 2025 (for the first six days of sales) Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sold 117.2 thousand copies on PS5, which is 28% more than the figure in Steam (91.2 thousand copies as of 14 December 2024).
In general, the game sold about 310 thousand copies in Steam, but analysts assume that the version for PlayStation 5 will surpass this result. Moreover, they believe that if the game was released on all platforms at the same time, sales on PlayStation could be even higher.
As for the demand for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Xbox, Alinea believes that the number of players there is close to 5 million, but most of them did not buy the game, and used the Game Pass service. Obviously, this is the main reason for the higher sales of Indiana Jones on PS5: on this platform there is no way to play the game without buying it. Besides, Sony hasn't released such cinematic high-budget games for a long time and the public missed them.
