The former Xbox exclusive, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has finally made its way to the PlayStation 5 and is off to a very successful start. According to analytics company Circana, the game became the best-selling title in the US during its debut week. However, despite its commercial success, it failed to enter the list of the most popular games on PS5 for the same period.

Here's What We Know

The Great Circle's release on PS5 marks the first time a port has topped the weekly sales charts in the US. The Xbox and PC versions, which were released back in December 2024, failed to reach the top spot during their launch weeks. It is also worth noting that players on both of these platforms had access to the game through a Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Despite being the best-selling game of the week ending 19 April, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle did not make it into the top 15 most popular games in the US for the same period. How can this be explained? Circana analyst Mat Piscatella believes that it may be due to the "modern console environment", which is dominated by game services with constant content updates.

"The big game services are sucking the air out of the market," Piscatella said.

On the PlayStation and Xbox platforms, Call of Duty became the leader in terms of weekly active users: HQ BECAME THE LEADER IN TERMS OF WEEKLY ACTIVE USERS. On Steam, Marvel Rivals took the top spot in the US, Counter-Strike 2 in Canada, and REPO in Mexico for the same week.
