Apple is working on an updated version of the budget Apple Watch SE, and the displays for the new model are already in production. This was reported by analyst Ross Young.

Here's What We Know

According to Young, the new Apple Watch SE 3 will be available with 1.6-inch and 1.8-inch displays, which indicates minor changes compared to the current Apple Watch SE models. At the same time, the Apple Watch SE 2 is available in 40 mm and 44 mm variants, and Apple may keep these sizes for the next generation.

Usually, the Apple Watch SE is based on previous Apple Watch models, and the current version is based on the Series 6 design. There is a possibility that Apple will use this design again, but there may be other options. The display sizes may vary slightly due to rounding, and the company may release a model based on the Series 7 design with 41mm and 45mm sizes, or the Apple Watch SE will get a completely new design.

Rumours suggest that Apple may develop the Apple Watch SE with a hard plastic case in different colours, although it is unknown whether the company will implement this design. If the design of the Apple Watch SE is not based on the existing Apple Watch models, it is possible that it could get 1.6 and 1.8-inch displays in a more compact body, close to the size of 38 mm and 42 mm. This design would make the watch smaller, but with a larger screen and thinner bezels.

Apple is positioning the Apple Watch SE as an affordable option for children, so a smaller model seems likely, as it will be better suited for small wrists.

Details about the Apple Watch SE will be revealed closer to the launch, which is expected in September along with the updated Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 models.
