You can now edit shared photos in Google Photos
Google Photos now allows users to edit photos and videos in shared albums.
Here's What We Know
Previously, once a photo was shared, it could no longer be edited. This restriction often became a problem for those who wanted to change the photo after it was shared, for example, to enhance the face in a portrait or use the Magic Eraser feature to remove an unwanted element.
Now, thanks to the update, users can make changes to a photo after it has been added to an album. However, this only applies to images that belong to the user. That is, you cannot edit someone else's photos in a shared album. For the changes to appear, they must be saved in the same original file, not as a copy. Otherwise, the changes will not appear in the shared album.
This feature is already available to users through the web version of Google Photos, as well as on iPhone and iPad devices. However, it hasn't yet appeared on Android devices.
Google noted that the changes are already working, and now it is much easier to edit shared photos.
As a reminder, Google Photos allows you to fix mirror selfies on Android. This option was announced back in September last year, but has now become available to most Android users. With the new feature in Google Photos, you can now flip images directly in the app.
