Silent Hill revival brings huge profits: remake success takes Bloober Team to new heights
The Polish studio Bloober Team, which once went through hard times but managed to find its calling in the horror genre, made a full-fledged statement with the remake of the cult Silent Hill 2. And this project became a real triumph for both the studio and Konami.
Here's What We Know
Recently, Bloober Team published its financial report for 2024, which stunned with an incredible increase in net profit - as much as 680% compared to the previous year! This growth was made possible by the phenomenal success of Silent Hill 2, which sold 2 million copies in just the first three months after its release. Moreover, the success of the game had a positive impact on Konami's performance, increasing the value of their shares by 96% last year.
With such a successful 2024 behind them, the Bloober Team is now fully focused on their next project, Cronos: The New Dawn. This game will take players to the post-apocalyptic world of the 80s, filled with horror elements similar to Silent Hill 2 Remake, but this time, the main enemies will be alien creatures. Judging by the released gameplay details and video footage, the game looks promising and is due to be released in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
However, the cooperation with Konami does not end with Silent Hill 2. The success of the remake has already secured Bloober Team a long-term partnership with the Japanese giant. Currently, the studio is working on several projects, including new games in the Silent Hill universe, but this remains a secret.
