The free-to-play team PvP game Marvel Rivals hasn't even been around for a year yet, and it has already announced a grand esports tournament Marvel Rivals Ignite with a staggering $3 million prize pool!

Here's What We Know

The official Marvel Rivals account announced the launch of Ignite. The tournament will start in May and will cover five key regions: North and South America, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), China, Asia and Oceania.

As already mentioned, Marvel Rivals Ignite will have a prize pool of $3 million, of which $1 million will be awarded in the grand final. More detailed information about the format and schedule of the tournament will be announced later.

The first esports event in the Marvel Rivals world was the Invitational, which managed to attract numerous large organisations, gathered a significant number of viewers and had a prize pool of $100,000. Now, the developers are raising the bar to a whole new level, and with such a huge prize pool, Marvel Rivals will undoubtedly attract the attention of the most famous esports organisations from around the world, and the scale of the event guarantees even more viewers.

During an interview in early 2025, the game director of Marvel Rivals stated that they are looking at esports "on a larger scale, looking at the bigger picture". Developers are striving to create a community where both professional and casual players can comfortably coexist.
