In May, Huawei will lose Microsoft's licence to use Windows and the Chinese company has decided not to renew its contract with the Americans. Instead, Huawei computers will receive the company's own operating system - HarmonyOS.

Here's What We Know

Recall, earlier the head of Huawei Yu Chengdong announced that Huawei smartphones have fully entered the era of HarmonyOS and will no longer use third-party OS. The same decision now extends to the Chinese manufacturer's PCs as well.

It is expected that the official launch time of the PC version of HarmonyOS will be announced in the first days of May.

At the first stage, computers with HarmonyOS will use emulators to ensure normal operation of Windows software and comfortable transition of users to another OS.

In the second stage, developers will release special versions of their applications for HarmonyOS and get rid of emulators.

Importantly, the applications in the PC version of HarmonyOS will be similar to the mobile versions, making life easier for both users and software vendors. The goal is to create an ecosystem similar to the one Apple has built.
