id Software has no doubts about the success of DOOM: The Dark Ages - critics' reviews will be published a week before the release of the shooter
DOOM: The Dark Ages will be the main novelty of May. Millions of gamers are eagerly waiting for the new part of the cult series and few people doubt that id Software will release a cool game. It seems that the developers themselves are sure in it.
Here's What We Know
Journalists of various publications and some bloggers will publish their reviews already on the 9th of May - one week before DOOM: The Dark Ages release. Usually developers lift the embargo on publishing reviews so early in the only case - if they are absolutely sure that critics will praise their game.
As a reminder, the game will be a prequel to DOOM (2016) and Doom Eternal and will show where Doom Slayer's story began when he was still serving the Ancient Gods.
DOOM: The Dark Ages will offer a huge selection of melee and ranged weapons, and some of the items introduced in the previous instalments will be changed in favour of a new style, which refers to gothic and medieval motifs.
Each chapter of the game is divided into acts, and in total there will be 22 levels and passing each of them will take about an hour, but with additional content it will take more time to pass. The Dark Ages will offer the largest locations in the history of the series.
When to Expect
DOOM: The Dark Ages will be released on 15 May on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and will be available immediately on Game Pass.
