Behind the scenes of Tales of the Shire: developers revealed interesting details of the cute hobbit simulator
Wētā Workshop studio presented new material dedicated to Tales of the Shire, a cute game based on the Lord of the Rings universe.
Here's What We Know
The 10-minute video is a direct story of the developers about how the game was created, what difficulties were encountered with the realisation of their ideas, what they managed to implement, and what remained only an idea.
The developers' comments are accompanied by gameplay footage of Tales of the Shire, and showed how the game looked like at the early stage of production.
Separately, the authors paid attention to the character editor, they wanted every player to be able to create his ideal hobbit and provided a huge number of options for this - you can adjust even the size of the feet.
Recall, the events of Tales of the Shire will unfold in the settlement of hobbits - Shire. Its inhabitants prefer to lead a leisurely lifestyle, do not accept violence, cosily arrange their homes and plots of land, love festivals and fishing, grow flowers and have fun - that's what players will do in Tales of the Shire.
Conceptually, Tales of the Shire is similar to the popular indie game Stardew Valley: it is just as bright, unhurried, "cosy", friendly and very positive. The game will have a dynamic change of seasons and weather, a short story campaign, rewards for daily activity and much more.
When We Can Expect It
Tales of the Shire is expected to release on 29 July on MS (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
