Apple plans to radically change the design of the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models. According to The Information, these models will receive Face ID located under the display.

Here's What We Know

The screen will have only a small hole in the upper left corner for the front camera. This means that the pill-shaped notch will disappear, and possibly the Dynamic Island will also disappear.

Earlier, analyst Ross Young also spoke about the under-screen Face ID system in future iPhones. This reinforces the veracity of the new information.

It is currently unknown what will happen to the Dynamic Island feature. Apple can either completely abandon it or change its appearance for the new format.

It is expected that the iPhone 18 Pro will be presented in September 2026. If rumours are confirmed, it will be the biggest change in the iPhone screen design in the last few years.

Apple is preparing a major update for the iPhone 18. According to a well-known insider at Digital Chat Station, the company plans to use a new 2-nm processor from TSMC, which will provide a significant performance boost. However, prices may rise along with it.

The new chip is expensive to produce, especially at the start, when volumes are still limited. Because of this, Apple is likely to install it only in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This is reported by PhoneArena, citing Digital Chat Station. The insider notes that early production constraints could affect the availability of the new models.
