The DeepSeek artificial intelligence platform is actively used by Chinese designers to develop combat aircraft, including deck-mounted fighters and next-generation aircraft.

Here's What We Know

According to the South China Morning Post, this was announced by Wang Yongqing, a designer at Shenyang Aerospace University who has been involved in aviation technology for more than 40 years. He stressed that artificial intelligence can significantly speed up engineering processes, freeing specialists from routine work.

DeepSeek provides new engineering approaches, speeds up the design cycle, and helps focus on key technical challenges.

The university where Wang works is part of the Chinese defence corporation AVIC. According to him, DeepSeek has already been used to create a deck-based version of the J-35 fighter jet, as well as to upgrade the ground-based version. Wang Yongqing's team is exploring the possibilities of large language models to solve complex technical problems based on real needs.

In the context of AI, China is probably closer to launching a sixth-generation fighter jet, which is increasingly being spotted in the sky during tests.
