PC version of Stellar Blade will run on Unreal Engine 4: why this is good news for gamers
The expected PC version of the popular PS5 sci-fi action game Stellar Blade by Shift Up will be released in the summer of 2025 and, as it became known, will be powered by the proven Unreal Engine 4.26.
Here's What We Know
Stellar Blade, which debuted on PlayStation 5 in 2024, has already won the favour of fans thanks to its dynamic gameplay, stunning graphics, and a story about a post-apocalyptic Earth where the main character Eve fights monsters.
The PC version, which is scheduled for release in June 2025, will be based on Unreal Engine 4.26, a technology that has ensured the game's excellent performance on consoles and is well known to developers.
Despite the fact that Unreal Engine 5 has been available for more than three years, and Epic Games is even preparing the sixth generation of its engine, Shift Up developers decided to stay with the stable version of UE4.
This decision has significant advantages, as UE4 offers better optimisation and more stable FPS compared to UE5, and makes the process of creating modifications more accessible to the community.
The PC version will feature 4K support, improved lighting, and more detailed textures that are significantly superior to the PS5 version. Shift Up also promises that the PC version will not be just a port, but will demonstrate all the features of the platform, while maintaining low system requirements.
