The crime action game Mafia: The Old Country has officially received an ESRB age rating, which sheds light on the content and themes of the upcoming game. The rating confirms that the project will be full of violence, blood, swearing, and adult themes, reflecting the atmosphere of early 20th century Sicily.

Here's What We Know

According to the official ESRB assessment, Mafia: The Old Country has been rated M (Mature 17+) for blood and gore, intense violence, strong language, hints of adult themes and alcohol consumption.

Players will be immersed in the story of Enzo Favara, a young mafia man who is climbing the ladder of the criminal world of Sicily in 1905. The game involves a variety of criminal tasks: from extortion and theft to murder. To do this, players will use a wide arsenal of weapons - knives, pistols, rifles, shotguns, and explosives.

What exactly does the game contain?

  • Violence and bloodshed: Realistic sounds of gunshots, screams of pain, blood splatter effects, puddles of blood under the bodies of the dead. Players can perform hidden killings, such as slitting throats or stabbing from behind. The story scenes show cruel moments: shots to the head, murder by beating, severed fingers.
  • Adult themes: The game contains scenes with women in a brothel, hints of prostitution, as well as dialogues with rude language and sexual overtones.
  • Alcohol consumption: The character can consume alcohol and even drive while intoxicated.
  • Language: The game contains foul language, including the word "f**k".

We expect the game to be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series in the summer and new details on 8 May.
