Paradox Interactive has released the next expansion of the popular space 4X-strategy Stellaris.

Here's What We Know

The expansion is called BioGenesis and is fully dedicated to advanced bioengineering - in it players will be able to create living spaceships, terraform ecosystems and use genetic tools to deeply transform their empire.

Stellaris features three paths of genetic transformation (cloning, purity, and mutation), three new origins (Evolution Hunters, Starlight Citadel, Wilderness), 16 new race traits, 7 new civilian models, 18 improved forms of government, numerous new events, and more.

Living ships will add variety to Stellaris gameplay and allow you to build up the power of your fleet. You can also create other huge creatures that will wreak havoc across the galaxy.

The main innovations of BioGenesis are shown in a special trailer:

Simultaneously with the release of BioGenesis, Stellaris received a free 4.0 update called "Phoenix". It improves the game's performance, fixes bugs, makes the notification system a bit more convenient and makes adjustments to the interface design.

BioGenesis is included in the Season 09 Expansion Pass.

Until 19th of May the basic version of Stellaris is 75% off on Steam.
