The final season of The Squid Game will be released on 27 June: what the first teaser showed and what to expect from the end of the series

Netflix has unveiled the first teaser for the third season of Game of Thrones, which has already caused a wave of emotions, hinting at new deadly games, dramatic twists and turns, and the return of familiar characters.

Here's What We Know

The plot focuses on Song Gi-hoon, known as Player 456, who, after an unsuccessful rebellion against the organisers, finds himself back in the deadly game. The teaser shows a new game where participants are divided into two teams - blue and red - using a capsule machine. It was a particularly painful moment when sweet mum Geum-ja got a red capsule and her son Yeon-sik got a blue one, which promises tragic events.

The teaser also features police officer Hwang Joon-ho, who finally finds the Squid Game island after searching in vain, as well as the return of the rich viewers who fund the games, but appear only towards the end, reminding us of their indifference and luxury.

The teaser ends with the crying of a baby, which is probably the birth of the pregnant contestant Park Mi-young. It remains a mystery whether she will be able to survive in this cruel world and provide a future for her child.

The second season of The Squid Game set a historical record by becoming the most popular non-English-language Netflix show in the world. The third season promises to be a high-profile finale, where all storylines will come to a logical conclusion. The season was filmed in parallel with the second one and ended in June 2024.

On 27 June 2025, The Squid Game will end its story, but the franchise will not disappear - Netflix is already preparing new projects in the universe.
