Microsoft unveiled Surface Pro 12 - a powerful tablet with a large screen
At the same time as the Surface Laptop 13, Microsoft unveiled the new Surface Pro tablet, making it the thinnest and lightest device in its Copilot+ PC lineup.
Here's What We Know
Like previous models, the tablet is perfectly optimised for AI, thanks in part to the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 processor with Neural Module, which will deliver a 50% performance boost (45 TOPs).
The Surface Pro 12 gets a redesigned design with a more rounded shape, an integrated stand on the back that folds out to 165°, and the updated Surface Slim Pen stylus attaches to the back on a magnet and charges there as well.
Surface Pro 12 specs:
- 12″ PixelSense Flow Panel LCD display with 2196×1464 resolution with stylus support for handwritten notes. The refresh rate will be 90Hz;
- Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 8-core processor;
- OS: Windows 11 Pro;
- 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB (UFS) storage (depending on model);
- up to 16 hours of battery life;
- 1080p front camera with AI enhancements + Windows Studio Effects optimise video calls;
- Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support;
- two USB-C ports without the proprietary Surface Connect connector.
The body thickness of the gadget is just 7.8mm. Buyers will be offered the Surface Pro 12 in three colours - Ocean, Slate and Platinum. An updated Surface keyboard in the same colours can be purchased separately.
The Surface Pro tablet in the basic configuration (256 GB) costs $799. The 512GB version will cost $899. A keyboard case can be purchased separately for $149, as can the Surface Slim electronic pen for $129.
