Elden Ring will be released on Switch 2 in a special Tarnished edition - new classes, armour and customisation in 2025

FromSoftware is preparing a pleasant surprise for Elden Ring fans: along with the release of the Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025, players will receive additional content - two new classes, new armour sets, weapons, and unique looks for the Torrent Mountain. Owners of PS5, PS4, Xbox, and PC will also be able to purchase these bonuses as Tarnished Pack DLC.

Here's What We Know

At FromSoftware's spring event in Tokyo, the developers for the first time told in detail what awaits players in Tarnished Edition. The most interesting thing is the appearance of two new classes: Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight, which will open up new tactical possibilities and playstyles. Their unique set armour will be part of four new armour sets that will also appear in the game.

Another nice new feature is three customisation options for your faithful steed, Torrent. In addition, players will receive new weapons, combat techniques and additional options for character personalisation. All of this content will be available not only on Switch 2, but also on other platforms in the form of the Tarnished Pack, a separate DLC that FromSoftware says will be inexpensive.

The Tarnished Edition also contains the large-scale Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack, so newcomers will get a complete set of adventures, and veterans will have an additional incentive to return to the game world. The exact release date has not yet been announced.
