Despite the failed release of co-operative shooter Payday 3, Swedish studio Starbreeze not only has no plans to end its support, but also bought all the rights to it.

Here's What We Know

Starbreeze is now the developer and publisher of Payday 3 - for this purpose, the company has signed a deal with publisher Plaion for $3.5 million. To cover the costs, the authors of the shooter have issued Class B shares, which were purchased by Embracer Group - the owner of Plaion.

The deal will become effective on 15 May.

This agreement will allow Starbreeze to fully purchase the publishing rights to Payday 3 from Plaion, significantly accelerate content development and realise greater strategic opportunities for the Payday franchise as a whole. We appreciate Plaion's support, which underlines confidence in Starbreeze's future and strengthens our strategic relationship with the world's biggest players.

Payday 3 is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, but its popularity is close to zero, with the game rarely seeing more than 600 visitors per day on Steam.
