delta4x4, in collaboration with the X-raid rally team, has unveiled a massively modified Mini Countryman with obvious references to the Dakar rally cars. The concept combines off-road potential with everyday practicality, going beyond a conventional crossover.

Here's What We Know

The main technical feature of the project was the original X-raid chassis. It allowed to increase the ground clearance by 50 mm. Plus the track was widened by 10 mm on each side to accommodate massive 18-inch Hanma wheels with off-road tyres Loder AT #1 in size 255/55 R18. Previous delta4x4 projects have used 17-inch wheels and 235/60 R17 rubber. The new configuration offers better traction in sand, gravel and mud, while promising to maintain stability on tarmac.

The Countryman also gets an aluminium roof luggage platform with a capacity of 80kg of payload. This can include jerry cans, tracks, shovels and other gear. The front is fitted with steel guards and four 90-watt PIAA LED spotlights. On the sides there are reinforced aluminium sills, which protect the body in case of contact with stones or deep ruts.

Such aggressive style is not new for delta4x4: earlier the studio has already created Ferrari Purosangue Fuoristrada with 40 mm suspension lift, mud rubber and underbody protection.

So far Countryman with tuning in the style of Dakar is created in a single copy, but if there is interest, a limited series can be produced. And modifications will fit all versions of the model - with diesel and petrol engines, as well as plug-in hybrid installation. The cost of the upgrade is expected to be in the five-digit range in euros, depending on the set of options.
