The second season of Peacemaker will be released on HBO on 21 August
The eagle-helmeted antihero is back - the second season of Peacemaker will officially launch on 21 August 2025 on the Max (formerly HBO Max) streaming platform.
What we know
In the new season, John Cena reprises his role as Christopher Smith, known as the Peacemaker. Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick return to the cast. Newcomers include Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. as well as Sol Rodríguez, David Denman and Tim Meadows.
The second season is set after the events of Superman (2025) and Creature Commandos, integrating Peacemaker into the new DC Universe (DCU). The series is expected to explore the consequences of the Peacemaker's actions, including his conflict with his father and the impact of Amanda Waller's secrets on the team.
Context.
The first season of Peacemaker, which debuted in January 2022, received rave reviews for its unique humour, action and deep character development. The series was the first television project in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and quickly gained popularity among viewers. Now, with the launch of the new DCU universe under the direction of James Gunn, Peacemaker is becoming an important part of this revamped franchise.
The series will consist of eight episodes that will be released weekly. The first trailer is expected closer to the premiere date. In the meantime, fans can watch the teaser presented during the NBA Playoffs, which gives a first look at the new season.
