After the release of the VR-exclusive Alien: Rogue Incursion in 2024, Survios announced an updated version of the game without the need for a VR headset. Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition will open the doors to a wider audience of gamers and will be released on 30 September 2025 on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5.

Here's What We Know

The original VR version tells the story of former military officer Zula Hendricks, who, together with her synthetic partner Davis 01, investigates the mysterious experiments of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation on the planet Purdun. Players will have to infiltrate the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research centre, where a deadly threat in the form of xenomorphs - cunning and aggressive creatures that have become the hallmark of the Alien franchise - reigns.

The Evolved Edition is positioned as the first part of a two-part story that offers a complete plot but leaves intrigue for the sequel. The game retains the atmosphere of classic horror, combining elements of survival, exploration, and tactical combat. A special role in the gameplay is played by the noise mechanics - excessive noise can attract the attention of deadly enemies.

Despite the mixed reviews of the VR version on Steam (68% positive), the Meta Store rating reaches 4 out of 5 points based on 475 reviews. The main complaint of users was performance, so the new version may improve this aspect, although the developers have not yet disclosed the details of the optimisation.

Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition will be available in two editions: standard for $30 and Deluxe for $40, which includes a digital artbook and cosmetic items in the style of Alien. Owners of the VR version will probably receive the update for free.
