The total number of copies of the Metal Gear franchise sold since 1987 has reached over 62.9 million units
Konami has published an updated version of its corporate profile in which it has revised key statistics. As spotted by ResetEra's MauroNL, the profile now includes updates on the success of the company's most iconic franchises, including Silent Hill and Metal Gear.

Thus, the Metal Gear franchise added another 500 thousand copies sold, bringing the total to 62.9 million since the first game was released in July 1987. The Silent Hill series, which began with the first game in March 1999, has now sold 11.5 million copies, including the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which exceeded 2 million units sold earlier last year.
Both series have experienced growth thanks to recent releases, with Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 coming out in October 2023 and the Silent Hill 2 remake last year. With new games planned for both franchises, including the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake due out on 28 August, sales are expected to continue to grow.
The company's profile also mentions other well-known series such as Pawafuru Puroyakyu, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Momotaru Dentetsu, which also continue to see strong sales across platforms.
