Fans of retro platformers should get ready for a wave of nostalgia - Gex Trilogy, a collection of classic games about the sarcastic gecko, will be released on 16 June on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC. The collection includes the original 2D game Gex (1995), as well as its 3D sequels Gex: Enter the Gecko (1998) and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko (1999).

Here's What We Know

The publisher is Limited Run Games. Although the collection is not officially called a remaster, players are promised numerous improvements, including widescreen support, a save system, rewind, art materials, advertising posters, a music player, and an interview with the voice actor of Gex, Dayna Gould.

In addition to the digital release, a physical version will be available later. The Standard Edition costs $39.99, while the Classic Edition for $74.99 includes a Steelbook, poster, soundtrack disc, and retro PS1-style packaging. The most comprehensive version, the Tail Time Edition ($199.99), includes a Hex figure, remote control badge, cards, full soundtrack, and a 91cm tall inflatable Hex.

This return comes amidst changes at Crystal Dynamics, which is currently working on a new Tomb Raider game in partnership with Amazon.
