We wrote that Bungie announced a stream on May 9 (which was supposed to take place on the 8th), where it would reveal plans for the upcoming extraction of the shooter Marathon. However, the broadcast was postponed shortly afterwards.

Here's What We Know

The developers of the shooter Marathon have announced the change of the date of the next PlayMA, an online broadcast dedicated to the game. Due to the absence of game director Joe Ziegler on Friday, 9 May, the event was postponed to 16 May. During the stream, the team will reveal plans for the game's future.

Marathon is a sci-fi PvPvE extraction shooter by Bungie, a studio known for its Halo and Destiny series. Players in the role of "Runners" compete in teams of three, exploring an abandoned colony on the planet Tau Kita IV, fighting enemies and other players to collect valuable loot and get out alive.

The game is set to release on 23 September 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with full cross-play and cross-play support. Marathon will not have a single-player campaign, focusing on a multiplayer experience with survival and tactical game elements.

PlayMA is a regular online broadcast where the development team demonstrates new game mechanics, answers questions from fans, and shares development plans.
