Gearbox head "doesn't know" the price of Borderlands 4 for gamers, nor the shooter's production budget
Gearbox studio is not stingy with loud promises about the quality and content of Borderlands 4 shooter, but at the same time they still haven't revealed the cost of the game. As it turned out, even the head of development can't answer this question.
Here's What We Know
Gearbox's head and co-founder Randy Pitchford spoke at PAX East and when asked about the cost of Borderlands 4 for gamers, he said that he doesn't know the answer.
I'll be honest, I don't know. It's true. We live in interesting times
The developer added that he doesn't even know the exact amount spent on developing the game, but he estimates the budget to be "twice as much as Borderlands 3."
Pitchford is aware that the increase in production costs inevitably leads to an increase in the cost of the game for the buyer, but he cannot yet say whether gamers will have to pay the very $80 that is becoming the new trend for the cost of games for Xbox and Nintendo.
The head of Gearbox said that pre-orders for Borderlands 4 will open soon and then the cost of the game will be known.
When We Can Expect It
Borderlands 4 will be released on 12 September on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
