PlayStation 5 users now have another convenient way to pay for games and content - the console now supports Apple Pay. This became possible thanks to the new payment method that Apple introduced with the release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18.

Here's What We Know

When placing an order for PS5, users will see a new payment option - Apple Pay. By selecting it, the console will generate a unique QR code. To complete the payment, just scan this code with your iPhone or iPad. After that, the standard Apple Pay window will appear on the screen of the mobile device, where you can select a card for payment and confirm the purchase using Face ID or Touch ID.

This approach is already used for payments through Chrome browsers and other third-party platforms. Apple Pay on PS5 is not the fastest payment method, especially when compared to a linked bank card, but it has its advantages. For example, Apple Card holders can get 2% Daily Cash for purchases in the PS Store.

Apple Pay support is already available on PS5 and will soon be available on PS4 with the next system update.

As a reminder, Sony is preparing fresh PlayStation 5 bundles that will include the popular Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 game. Although the last Call of Duty bundle was released back in November 2023, new Black Ops 6 bundles will be coming soon and will include both the PS5 version with a disc drive and the digital version of the console.
